On February 1st all of us celebrate the National Freedom Day. It celebrates freedom from slavery. This day also recognizes that America is a symbol of liberty. National Wear Day perceives and respects the marking by Abraham Lincoln of a joint House and Senate goals that later turned into the Thirteenth Amendment to the U.S. constitution President Lincoln marked the Amendment prohibiting servitude on February 1, 1865. By the name of Major Richard Robert Wright, The former slave Sr. created National Freedom Day.  Major Wright looked like a great leader in the community.  On the views of Major Wright, this day needed to be celebrated. President Harry Truman signed a bill on June 30, 1948, proclaiming February 1st as the first official National Freedom Day in the United States. Abraham Lincoln’s signing the 13th Amendment outlawing slavery on February 1, 1865, that’s why February 1st was chosen as the day for National Freedom Day.

  • When President Abraham Lincoln signed a joint resolution that proposed the 13th amendment to the United States Constitution on that day celebrate national freedom day. This alteration discloses to us that “Neither bondage nor automatic subjugation, where the party will have been appropriately indicted aside from as a discipline for wrongdoing, will exist inside the United States, or wherever subject to their purview.” On eighteenth Dec, The Thirteenth Amendment was approved.

National Freedom Day was originally proposed as a national holiday by Major Richard Robert Wright, Sr. Who is a former slave. By the President Harry S declaration, the law was officially signed. In 1948 war, unrest and worse in so many parts of the world, our long history recognizing ‘freedom’ makes living in America a unique opportunity and blessing.

This day marks the Black history day of the month. National Freedom Day Celebrating our freedom is the perfect way to start a month of appreciating the history and contributions African Americans have made to our culture, country and the world.

National Freedom Day is a day of appreciation. It was established with the hopes of promoting goodwill and equality. Taking a moment to appreciate all the freedoms we enjoy daily will definitely put a positive spin on your whole day time.
